|Ever since the first seeds of the original Seilerei Pflug were sown right back in 1755, the company has flourished over the course of time into one of the leaders in the field of drive and material conveying technology, with a clear focus on the manufacture and development of round belts and components for the mechanical and plant engineering industries.
Originally, we processed raw materials such as flax, hemp, bast and the fibres from a wide range of trees and plants for the manufacture of ropes for agricultural, construction and forestry industries. Today, we mainly use high-tech fibres that can withstand temperatures of up to 480°C and are even more tearproof than steel.
The increasing industrialisation of our society at the beginning of the 20th century also meant that our products had to meet different requirements, with an increasing need for drive belts for power transmission and various automated tasks. The manufacture of round belts was initially traditional work to be completed by hand. However, as early as the 1950s, we started deploying machinery for most of the production processes.
Thanks to the development of synthetic fibres and consistent advancements in our production technologies, our products have unlocked a vast range of new application areas and uses as the years have passed.
At the beginning of the 1990s we developed computer-controlled test stands and production machinery that enable us to manufacture our products in consistently high quality, which is unmatched.
By expanding our profile technology in recent years, our manufacturing possibilities for extrusion have greatly expanded.
Our efforts have not been unsuccessful: we now supply more than 2,500 customers in over 45 countries.
